Ajna Capital Acquires Stake in Hivemapper’s HONEY Token

Ajna Capital, an early-stage Web3 venture fund, has acquired a strategic stake in HONEY, the native Hivemapper’s (decentralized mapping network) token. The investment aims to support the growth of Hivemapper’s platform and expand its presence, particularly in South Asia.

Hivemapper operates a decentralized model for building global maps. Contributors use dashcams to capture 4K street-level imagery, earning HONEY tokens in return. The system provides up-to-date mapping data and reduces costs compared to traditional centralized mapping providers. In the result the platform provides an open data to such industries like logistics and urban planning.

To date, Hivemapper has raised over $21 million from investors including VanEck, Multicoin Capital, Google Ventures, Spark Capital, and Solana Ventures. Ajna Capital has acquired about 1.5% of the circulating supply of HONEY and will take on an advisory role to support the project’s development and regional expansion.

The collaboration reflects growing interest in decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) and highlights the use of blockchain technology in real-world data collection and mapping.
