Solana (SOL) Foundation Partners with Central Asia to Build First Blockchain Economic Zone! Here Are the Details

Solana Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Kazakhstan, a first in Central Asia.

Solana Partners with Kazakhstan to Build Central Asia’s First Blockchain Economic Zone

The collaboration aims to establish a “Solana Economic Zone” in the country. The new initiative aims to make Kazakhstan a regional blockchain hub, promote Web3 technologies, and attract global talent.

In the announcement made on Solana’s official X account, it was emphasized that this cooperation is Solana’s first partnership with a state in Central Asia.

The project includes a special economic zone that aims to play the role of a technology-focused accelerator, similar to the Crypto Centre model within the Dubai Multi Commodity Centre (DMCC).

Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Space Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, stated that this initiative is an important step for both the country’s economy and the global crypto ecosystem.

“We are committed to building a resilient and competitive digital infrastructure. Thanks to projects like the Solana Economic Zone, we will be able to test and implement next-generation solutions, from asset tokenization to training Web3 talent.”

The Economic Zone Will Focus on Three Main Goals

The Solana Economic Zone, which will be supported by Solana technology, aims to develop the country’s Web3 infrastructure in three main areas:

1. Development of Tokenized Capital Markets: A pilot project to integrate tokenized products into traditional financial markets in Kazakhstan will be launched in partnership with the Astana International Exchange (AIX), the Solana Foundation, Jupiter and Intebix.
2. Creating a Web3 Developer Community: In cooperation with local universities, training programs focusing on the Rust programming language will be launched to train expert developers in the Web3 field.
3. Infrastructure and Incentives for Blockchain Companies: The economic zone will offer regulatory support, access to infrastructure, and business incentives to encourage blockchain companies to operate in Kazakhstan.

This cooperation is seen as part of the Solana Foundation’s vision to increase strategic relations with states on a global scale. It is also considered an important step for Kazakhstan to expand its role in the digital economy.
