Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has acknowledged the performance of the Argentine fiat currency, the peso. On social media, Buterin stated that the Argentine peso to U.S. dollar exchange rate was exactly the same as it was one year ago. Praising Argentine President Milei’s achievements during his first year in office, Buterin declared: “Quite an impressive turnaround for a currency that was previously on a seemingly unstoppable road to hyperinflation.” He concluded, “Inflation rates have also been decreasing quickly in recent months.” Milei recently celebrated the first surplus period of the Argentine economy in 123 years and plans to implement a currency competition scheme that would allow Argentines to pay for products and services with bitcoin.
