The renowned cryptocurrency platform Binance is set to implement a strategic halt concerning the upcoming Zilliqa (ZIL) blockchain network upgrade and hard fork. As part of the preparation, Binance plans to temporarily suspend Zilliqa-related deposits and withdrawals starting at approximately 02:00 on Monday, June 23, 2025. This proactive measure by Binance aims to ensure a smooth transition and optimize the user experience during the network enhancement. The suspension is scheduled to precede the upgrade, anticipated to occur at block height 4,770,087, around 03:00 on Tuesday, June 23, 2025.

What Will Binance Do During the Upgrade? How Soon Can We Expect a Return to Normalcy?

What Will Binance Do During the Upgrade?

Binance has stated that it will handle all technical aspects necessary for the Zilliqa blockchain’s upgrade and hard fork. Consequently, users do not need to make any alterations to their ZIL coin holdings within their accounts at this time. Users’ assets will remain secure while Binance manages the upgrade process efficiently behind the scenes.

Trading activities for ZIL and related cryptocurrencies will continue as usual on Binance during the network upgrade. Users can trade ZIL coins without interruption, even when deposit and withdrawal functionalities are temporarily disabled.

How Soon Can We Expect a Return to Normalcy?

Once the network upgrade and hard fork are complete, Binance will assess the situation before restoring deposit and withdrawal capabilities on the Zilliqa network. The emphasis will be on ensuring the updated network operates with stability and reliability.

The timeframe for resuming these services is projected to be “up to a week,” depending on the network’s performance post-upgrade. Binance advises users to stay updated through its official communication channels, as a separate announcement for the resumption will not be made. Users can also check the platform’s “Wallet” section for updates regarding the status of Zilliqa network operations.

From this strategic pause by Binance, several key conclusions can be drawn:

  • Binance emphasizes user security and seamless updating by handling technical complexities internally.
  • Trading of ZIL remains operational, highlighting Binance’s reliability even during network updates.
  • The resumption of deposit-withdrawal services will focus on network stability and user reassurance.

As Binance takes these meticulous steps, users are advised to remain vigilant by monitoring official Binance updates to stay informed about operational changes and service resumption concerning the Zilliqa network.
