Eth OS is becoming a trailblazer in Ethereum. It is intended as a fully on-chain stack operating system that brings Ethereum functions to mobile devices, so that storage in an external wallet, browser extension, or centralized app store is no longer necessary. EthOS will also be able to conquer network congestion, high gas fees, and scalability issues to provide an easy user experience to average people.

Light Clients: The Hinge of Security

A light client is a slimmed down Ethereum node that uses a chain with only block headers, rather than the chain itself. With Merkle proofs, it is able to verify transactions and state changes without requiring enormous storage.

With regards to without Eth OS:

  • Real-Time Checking- The customers are able to check transactions on the phone itself.
  • No Central Trusted Party – There is no necessity to trust RPC providers such as Infura, or Alchemy.
  • Mobile Friendly Light clients will have minimal storage space and can use a narrow bandwidth, which is ideal in smartphones.

Including a native light client in Eth OS makes all mobile devices safe, self-sovereign access points to Ethereum. Eth OS is used in combination with the rest of the scaling roadmap, as it integrates with the following solutions:

  • Layer 2 Rollups are special solutions that batch thousands of transactions, thereby substantially decreasing the traffic in mainnet.
  • Proto-Danksharding (EIP-4844) – Allows lower cost data availability of Layer 2 making it cheaper.
  • Future Sharding: Parallelises the transactions over several shards and scales Ethereum to 10,000+ TPS.

The Eth OS has a modular environment together with light client integration that will guarantee that users have the ability to communicate with L1 and L2 networks without requiring centralized intermediaries.

Eth OS is a secure brand-new Ethereum ecosystem that is unified and incorporates decentralization, scalability, and accessibility. It makes mainstream consumption of Web3 a possibility by the ease of interaction and the ability to do so in real time.
