SHIB-linked X account “Shibarium Updates” (@Shibizens) has decided to remind the meme coin community about what the main Shibarium tokens are used for – SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT.

Each of these tokens “power a different part of the decentralized future.”

SHIB token ecosystem guide from the team: SHIB and BONE

The X post talks about the four above-mentioned tokens used on Shibarium, revealing detailed use-cases for each of them. SHIB’s role is the following: “ecosystem currency and an adoption driver.”

SHIB is accepted for payments all over the globe via BitPay, Binance Pay, and NOWPayments, the post says, opening access to it for thousands of merchants. This token is the most widely held one in the whole SHIB ecosystem. Besides, thanks to regular burns, SHIB is a deflationary token and is getting more scarce over time.

Understanding the SHIB Ecosystem Tokens

How SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT each power a different part of the decentralized future

“SHIB is what brings people in. It’s the ecosystem’s heartbeat,” the X post claims.

BONE’s role is to serve as the native gas and governance token on Shibarium. Without it no transaction or smart contract execution can happen. It also gives users voting power in the Doggy DAO. BONE has a hard cap of 250 million, which makes it a scarce asset for the SHIB infrastructure. “BONE runs the engine. No BONE, no Shibarium,” the guide says. Rewards to validators and delegators who secure the chain are also paid in it.

LEASH and TREAT tokens

The role performed by LEASH is described in the guide as a token for “access and exclusivity.” The supply of LEASH is less than that of BONE and stands at 107,646 tokens, which makes it highly scarce. It provides a V.I.P. access to airdrops within the SHIB ecosystem: “Early mints, land sales, and premium projects.” Overall, according to the guide, “LEASH is your backstage pass to everything premium.”

Finally, TREAT is a token for reward and utility and it has finally gone live. TREAT serves as means for paying out rewards within the Shiba Inu ecosystem and it is meant to be used “across upcoming ecosystem products, including staking, liquidity incentives, and user rewards.”

Besides, it plays a crucial role when it comes to supporting new dapps and platforms created in the Shiba Inu ecosystem. “TREAT is the glue between products — rewarding, scaling, and energizing the ecosystem.”
