IOTA Unlocks Next Chapter With Rebased Mainnet and Global Adoption Push

• IOTA shifts focus on global adoption as it facilitates multiple strategic programs ranging from learn and earn campaigns to free online sessions to equip individuals with skills to build on blockchain.

In a recent update, CNF discussed the groundbreaking launch of the IOTA Rebased mainnet that ushered the network into a new dispensation of technical development. In that report, Rebased was reported to have introduced a new network architecture that positioned it within the same categories of heavyweight entities.

Today, IOTA has announced multiple initiatives that could truly drive adoption, specifically in global trade and the supply chain. The idea is to equip individuals with the necessary skills to build, govern, and innovate.

Highlighting some of the initiatives in a blog post, IOTA outlined its involvement in the CHASE project to develop blockchain skill strategies in Europe. In the post, Chase was defined as a four-year EU initiative that laid the foundation for an inclusive blockchain training in partnership with INATBA, Fujitsu, and the European DIGITAL SME Alliance. IOTA’s role ensured that the existing curriculum was perfectly in line with the growing needs of the industry.

We contributed our hands-on experience as a DLT innovator, hosting online seminars and undertaking interviews with industry experts, local market research to understand trends, and outreach with education institutions to assess the blockchain skills gap in Europe.

Learn and Earn Campaign, Hackathon, etc, Among IOTA’s Ongoing Global Efforts

After this initiative, IOTA is also reported to have largely contributed to the development of blockchain skills through strategic academic research. With this, they hinted at having collaborated with institutions like Imperial College London. According to our research, it participated in the funding of the I3-Lab to ensure that digital circular economic solutions are comprehensively researched.

Additionally, IOTA cited its recent collaboration with independent crypto data aggregator CoinGecko to introduce a Learn and Earn Campaign. As noted in our earlier post, participants who successfully completed the campaign and an attached quiz stood a chance of winning $20,000 in IOTA. Above all, another program called the IOTA Ambassador Bounty Board was introduced to enable the community to contribute to the ecosystem through engaging content and skills.

IOTA also made reference to major events like the Moveathon and regional events like the hackathon organized in Malaysia to bring together developers, startups, and mentors. As mentioned in our previous news brief, the Moveathon focused on four main tracks – tooling and infrastructure, Decentralized Finance Enhanced by AI, payments and consumer applications, and Real-World Applications in Tokenization and Global Trade.

IOTA has also shown its commitment to displaying its technology and impact on trade by organizing events like the IOTA East Africa Web3 Innovation Summit.

In late May, for instance, this summit was hosted in Nairobi, Kenya. As indicated in our earlier discussion, the event focused on some of the proven ways to tackle the trade and logistics challenges in Africa.

Additionally, there have been several free online sessions like the Buildsphere AMAs or DeFi Education Series and others on YouTube to ensure that its DLT training reaches the grassroots.

As reviewed in our recent publication, IOTA has undertaken several notable initiatives beyond these community engagement programs, addressing transparency and payment issues through a “prototype solution leveraging distributed ledger technology (DLT).”
