Research firm Messari has released data titled “State of Helium Q4 2024,” which provides quantitative metrics and qualitative information on Helium Network’s growth, adoption, and operational developments in the final quarter of 2024. The report provides valuable insights into Helium’s growth, adoption, and developments over a four-month period, with a particular focus on the expansion of mobile and IoT network capabilities in the DePIN project.
According to the data, Helium Network transferred over 576 TB of offloaded data in the final quarter of 2024, an increase of 555% from the previous quarter. It was revealed that by the end of Q4, Helium Mobile served over 124,000 subscribers to its unlimited talk and text service, an increase of 7% from the previous quarter. According to a Messari update published a few days ago, that number has now exceeded 150,000.
Helium’s mobile hotspot count has increased by 14% to 24,800, while its IoT hotspot count has grown by 20% to 32,900 since migrating to Solana. Helium Network partner Nova Labs tested hotspots in partnership with Telefonica in Mexico. The collaboration demonstrated interoperability between a decentralized network and a major telecommunications company. In October, it was announced that more than 100,000 Ameriband data-only hotspots had joined the Helium Network, significantly expanding its coverage in the United States.
