HBAR Foundation has officially joined the ERC3643 Association, a strategic move that demonstrates their commitment to expanding the adoption of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. This collaboration paves the way for broader collaboration with various institutions on the use of ERC-3643, a standard that is widely used in the issuance and management of blockchain-based assets in a compliant manner.

The ERC-3643 standard is not a new player. It has been used in various cases, including the tokenization of green bonds by major banks such as Citi and ABN AMRO. With its permission-based characteristics, ERC-3643 allows for the issuance of digital assets that are more auditable and compliant with the law. If you think of digital assets as access cards to a building, ERC-3643 ensures that only those with permission can enter.

The collaboration aims to encourage more institutions to learn and use ERC-3643, especially on the Hedera network. The HBAR Foundation’s position as a direct participant on the Hedera Governing Council gives them the opportunity to align the standard with enterprise needs without sacrificing the technological efficiency that is already a hallmark of Hedera.
