Cardano (ADA) occupied a niche as a blockchain ecosystem especially friendly to developers. The growing adoption of its smart contracts based on Plutus remains a key guide for assessing the long-term Cardano prospects. According to the data obtained by Finbold from Cardano Blockchain Insights, at the beginning of the year there were 6877 Plutus V1 scripts in the ecosystem, 106464 Plutus V2 scripts and 44444 Plutus V3 scripts, which was a total of 113786.
The ecosystem flourishes and on March 25 the number of Plutus V1 scripts increased to 6949, and the number of Plutus V2 scripts is now 120,494. However, the Plutus V3, the latest version of the Cardano smart contract, showed the largest increase in the number, noting almost five-fold growth. In general, the ecosystem can now boast of 129,637 smart contracts — 15,851 more than at the beginning of the year.
The Plutus V3 update, in addition to the provision of advanced functions of interaction and safety, has largely contributed to a decrease in development costs. The Cardano attempt to attract developers looking for economically effective solutions, focused on everything: from decentralized finance (Defi) and non-fungible tokens (NFT) to decentralized applications (Dapps), noticeably pays off.
