Neo has partnered with the Foundation for Interwallet Operability Protocol to bring human-readable handles to replace public addresses on Neo X.
FIO Protocol describes itself as a “usability layer,” designed to operate in a blockchain-agnostic manner and make blockchain more intuitive to use. FIO’s functionality is compatible with a broad range of applications, including wallets, exchanges, and dApps.
It provides users with FIO Handles, which consist of a username and a domain, allowing them to map multiple public addresses under a single, customizable identifier.
With a FIO Handle, users can send and receive cryptocurrency across any FIO-integrated product without needing to input lengthy public addresses. FIO Protocol also enables the sending and receiving of payment requests and attaching metadata to transactions.
As part of the partnership, FIO Protocol will integrate with Neo X. This will allow Neo X-based applications to become compatible with other existing FIO integrations.
