- Visitors collect soulbound NFT stamps from Expo pavilions via a digital wallet system.
Aptos is making a splash again. This time not just in the DeFi or NFT space, but on the world stage: Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan. The blockchain network was officially announced as the official digital wallet provider for the grand event, and the results were immediately felt.
In its first week, the wallet has processed more than 558 thousand transactions and successfully added 133 thousand new accounts to the Aptos ecosystem. It’s not just the numbers that are eye-catching, but also the way they combine physical and digital experiences through Web3 technology.

Every visitor can collect NFT stamps from various country pavilions or the works of artists they visit. These stamps are in the form of soulbound tokens, meaning they cannot be sold or transferred. Just imagine if you came to the France pavilion, then went home with exclusive digital evidence that cannot be copied by anyone. It’s a kind of experience passport, but the blockchain version.
Aptos Wallet Bridges Daily Life and Blockchain Utility
This EXPO2025 wallet has many features. One of them is MYAKU-PE! for daily transactions. There is also MYAKU-PO! which gives points for participating in activities, and MYAKU-N! for NFT collections. On the other hand, there is a reward program called MYAKU-MYAKU that makes interactions even more exciting.
But don’t think this is just a gimmick. This wallet is a bridge between the real and digital worlds, and in fact, people are interested. NFT collection campaigns such as “Izumo Travel” and “Okawa Sakura Cruise” were immediately flooded with participants.
Interestingly, this wallet is present at a time when Aptos itself is experiencing rapid growth. In early April 2025, the value of stablecoins on its network had reached US$1 billion. That figure made Aptos enter the list of the top 10 blockchains with the largest stablecoin capitalization.
Then in the third week of April, they touched 75 million active wallets. All of this happened together with the announcement that they were the platinum sponsor of Blockchain Days 2025.
Staking Proposal Sparks Debate Among Blockchain Community
However, that doesn’t mean everything went smoothly without debate. CNF reported that the Aptos community recently submitted the AIP-119 proposal.
Essentially, they want to lower the annual staking reward from 7% to 3.79% in the next three months. The goal is to align with other Layer-1 blockchains and create capital efficiency. However, some are concerned that this could push small validators out of the ecosystem.
As a precaution, the proposal includes a community delegation program that could help small validators survive. This is important, because if only large operators survive, decentralization will be a thing of the past.
Meanwhile, as of press time, APT is swapped hands at about $5.31, up 9.62% over the last 24 hours and 12.80% over the last 7 days.
